“To date I haven’t actually attended any alMaghrib classes. But I’ve been very impressed by what the sisters in Vancouver told me after attending one. I also realized alMaghrib in Vancouver helped to create friendships and unity among the youth. I benefited greatly from Yasir Birjas’ class in MAPS and I eagerly look forward to attending an actual alMaghrib class and experiencing what my friends did.” (Heba B.)
“I have loved every AlMaghrib class I have attended so far. The instructors are wonderful, the material benefticial and a sisterhood to cherish. I can’t wait for Seattle to get an AlMaghrib class again! Sign me up please.” (Anonymous)
“Sh. Muhammad Faqih taught us Rules of Engagement and I still reminisence that there wasn’t a dry eye in the congregation when he lead us in the last prayer for the class. We bonded so much over studying Akhlaq and manners together that I would take that class again in a heart beat!” (Sabika)
“My experience with AlMaghrib classes was surreal. I felt I was in a different world with everyone having the same goal striving to please Allah. I feel that AlMaghrib classes offer a glimpse into the feeling that must have prevailed during the Prophet (s.a.w)’s time where everyone was striving to learn and please Allah. Although I grew up in this community, I felt mostly out of place because the friends I grew up with and knew in the community all seemed to have taken a different path, it wasn’t until I got to know all the sisters in the AlMaghrib core group that I felt I had finally met a set of people I could relate to, and feel satisfied after getting together, knowing that our time was spent in trying to achieve something good. With more classes insha Allah I look forward to getting to know more sisters like them.” (An AlMaghrib Sister)
“I first heard about AlMaghrib through a friend but never really understood what was the BIG deal?!! I’ve been to other lectures/classes previously so I was trying to comprehend what was so different about the “AlMaghrib” experience than the classes I’ve taken so I decided to give it a try. And that was the beginning of the rest of my life!
I want to bring this phenomenal feeling to my community while sharing the experience with family and friends. Like an addict, I’m in dire need of AlMaghrib in Seattle. I want it to unfold and play right in front of my eyes; not through speakers or a screen. I want to feed my hungry and thirsty mind, body, and soul with AlMaghrib fuel to achieve the ultimate imanrush. Since becoming a volunteer, I’ve joined a real sisterhood (no greek letters needed here) that nurtures and nourishes on the love for Allah.
My name is Rahma O. and I AM FEENING AlMAGHRIB!” (Rahma O.)
“My experience with Al Maghrib is indescribable.
An experience, so desirable.
The knowledge gained is quite unimaginable.
The lectures are captivating.
The instructors are very motivating.
Workshops are fun too, start participating.
Get to the next class and stop the waiting.
Many topics and discussions if you like debating.
So come on and join the fun,
Possessing a ton of knowledge when you are done.” (Hanan O.)
“Assalamu alaikum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuh!!!
I ask Allah that this message reaches you in good health and eemaan. I currently reside in Seattle after having moved from another state. Alhamdulillah, Allah has blessed me with the opportunity to experience AlMaghrib. It has been an astounding experience, and just beyond indescribable. Alhamdulillah having moved to Seattle, I have made several acquaintances with great people, May Allah ‘azza wa jal shower them with His mercy. I had heard of a Qabeelat here in Seattle, although to my dismay, when I settled here the classes were gone walhamdulillah. After some sisters and brothers discussed ways in which they could work together in getting AlMaghrib back, alhamdulillah, they became a group and now by Allah’s Mercy, we are a Banu. By Allah in whose Hand my soul lies, I have seen the energy and optimism of the brothers and sisters here. They have conducted daily seminars, workshops, lectures and so much more to the get the community aware of what AlMaghrib really is. At first, it seemed people here had either forgotten of or no longer knew of AlMaghrib, but now walhamdulillah many of the people here in our community are informed. Our recent workshop this month was with our respected Shaykh, Abdulbary Yahya, and Alhamdulillah it was indeed a great turnout!
Alhamdulillah we have a large Muslim community, and with a humble and sincere request, please allow the brothers and sisters here in Seattle to re-experience AlMaghrib and be able to taste its fruits. I exceedingly value and respect everyone one of you in AlMaghrib, and I pray that Allah showers us with His abundant Mercy. Ameen.
Wa salaamu alaikum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuh.” (Anonymous)
“AlMaghrib is amazing. I only attended one course, it was awesome. I wish we can have more courses. The teachers are really awesome and if you attend, something in you will definitely change.” (Anonymous, Vancouver BC)
“I can’t imagine what my life would have been like, without knowing or having experienced AlMaghrib, because the day I took my first AlMaghrib seminar, my life drastically changed from then on. I can’t imagine not knowing the people I met through AlMaghrib now, because they have become people I truly and dearly love for the sake of Allah. I can’t imagine not being able to sit in front of the respectable shuyookh of AlMaghrib and learning from them, and that is why my heart yearns for AlMaghrib to come back to Seattle again. I am not the same without AlMaghrib. Seattle is not the same without AlMaghrib. We pray and make du’aa that AlMaghrib returns inshaAllah.” (Anonymous)
“I have not attended an Al-Maghrib class as yet. I joined Banu Ruhma some weeks after graduating from college. I have been in school all my life and at this point I realized I had not done half as much to prepare for the hereafter than I have done for this life, other than regular prayers and fasting. I was encouraged by the energy and motivation I found within Banu Ruhma. This was reinforced by some of the successful events that we hosted and co-hosted. I love the energy and commitment in the group and inshaAllah am looking to achieve much more in the coming months.” (Jamal)
